Staff selection commission has been established in order to recruit staff for various posts that are released from time to time in various ministries and departments of government of India. The commission is attached to the office of the Department of Personnel and Training that comprises of a chairman, 2 members and secretary who also acts as controller of examinations. The main aim of the commission is to recruit eligible candidates into group B or group C categories into different departments of government of India. Staff selection commission, previously known as Subordinate Services Commission was established in the year 1975 to recruit personal into the lower cadre posts.
